Michael Raudonikas
Hi, I'm Michael: Born in
St. Petersburg, Russia.
Grounded in Toronto not too long ago. Intending to stay for a while or so.
Never mind the picture, I'm usually nice or pretending.
I've taken up Argentine Tango in my early university years.
It creeps into your life slowly: one or two days a week at first. Then one more -
and maybe one more, until you finally realize that Saturday, for example, is the only day when you are
not
dancing. My first instructors were Daria Nikolaeva and Andrey Panferov
(Buenos Aires
Mundial de Tango
finalists in 2006 and 2007).
Later I had the chance to study with
Sebastian Arce & Mariana Montes,
Mariano
"Chicho" Frumboli,
Horacio Godoy & Cecilia Garcia,
Pablo Villarraza &
Dana Frigoli, Stefano Guidiche & Marcela Guevara,
Diego Riemer and Thierry LeCocq. Trying to extend the list as I go.
Something periodical
Raudonikas.com
- I'm not much of a frequent blogger, but here is the limbo my articles go to before they
are deemed worthy of the
'Articles' section on this site. (Well, technically this
site doesn't even an Articles '
section' yet, but it will eventually. Until
that day they are doomed to stay in the blog. Again '
they' is not exactly
the proper word to describe it at the moment I'm writing this. But everything has
to start somewhere.)
Dancing tango
A good dancer values the connection with his\her partner most and dances within
the music. A simple step in a proper embrace, done at the right moment (and not a multigancho
sequence) - is one of the most impressive things one can do, according to my
taste. Not as easy, as it sounds, but it get's you as close as possible to feeling
comfortable on any floor with any partner. Exept for the really bad ones.
