Tango in Toronto
TorontoTango.com
- A perfect way to keep track of what's going on in the local tango
community. Lessons, workshops, studios, milongas and various special events.
I believe you don't need any other links, it's all there A to Z.
By the way, we would like to express our sincerest thanks to
Andy Kamienski
and
Ilona for their kindness and support. And also to
Lukasz Bartosik
for his photos we've used here, as well as for those we didn't and for his
good company as a whole.
Tango anywhere
KnowTango.com
- Is a fairly new project, but already holds a lot of useful information.
It draws on the collective knowledge of the tango community
to provide a centralized
world map of all tango events. Classes, milongas, practicas and festivals
virtually everywhere.
TodoTango.com
- Has a vast collection of tango-related materials: from singers' and musicians'
biografies to song lyrics and from interviews to historical studies. This particular
link will bring you to their neatly categorized Lyrics section (more than 4000
texts presently available). The only problem is that all the texts, albeit sometimes
provided with a short commentary, are in Spanish. See next link for a solution.
Lyrics @ TangoDC.com -
Features translations for some of the most popular tunes that you would hear at the
milongas.
Easytango.com: Glossary
- Is the place to go for definitions. If the seminar programme
speculates in words you don't understand, check their tangopedia. Remember though,
that the tango world is not without contradictions. Especially when it comes to
meanings.
Dance Studios
Habeeba's Dance Studio
- Is the permanent home of most 3-2-Tango classes and practica. Habeeba also offers
bellydancing classes.
Movement Centre
- Is the new home of Milonga-2-3 and a very nice studio, featuring yoga, dancing
and martial arts classes.
City Dance Corps
- Offers a wide variety of dancing classes. We used to teach there on Wednesdays.
